Overview

ProductMotive is a product and software decision site. We aim to keep our data practices as simple as our designs are. This policy covers productmotive.com and any pages attached to it.

What we collect

We collect the minimum needed to operate the site and answer questions:

• Information you give us. When you contact us through the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. The match flow on this site runs in your browser; the answers you give are used to build your recommendations and are not stored on our servers unless a future feature says otherwise.
• Technical information. Standard, aggregate analytics such as pages visited, approximate region, device type and referral source. We use this to understand how the site is used, not to identify individuals.

How we use it

• To reply to your messages and deal with corrections or feedback.
• To improve the site — which guides are useful, which categories people search for, what questions help.
• To maintain security and prevent misuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and analytics

We use a few cookies for essential functions (for example, remembering a choice you made during a session). If we use analytics cookies, we use them in aggregate and you can disable them in your browser. Blocking cookies will not stop the main features of the site from working.

Third parties

Some pages may embed content from third parties (for example, a form or video). When you load that content, the provider may process data under their own privacy policy. We choose providers that offer reasonable privacy safeguards, but we don’t control their practices.

If you follow a link to a retailer, manufacturer or another site from ProductMotive, that site’s privacy policy applies from that point on.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. You can exercise them by contacting us. We will respond within the period required by law.

Retention and security

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, and we use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it. Where you send us details in connection with a request, we delete or anonymise them once the matter is resolved.
